ABOUT OUR CAMPAIGN
JEME Consultants designed + developed Philadelphia’s 988 Awareness Plan in an effort to shift how Philadelphians navigate their mental & behavioral health needs + support those in need of services. JEME implemented a strategic engagement plan to learn how Philadelphians - lifelong + new, young + senior, + diverse ethnicities representing over two dozen neighborhoods - manage their mental health, and access services and resources available through the city’s Department of Behavioral Health & Intellectual Disability Services (DBHIDS) with the purpose of developing a deeply-integrated + insightful 988 Lifeline Awareness Campaign.
The Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation and DBHIDS engaged JEME to initiate this four-phase project that included meeting with a wide-range of institution leaders and over 100 Philadelphians (service providers + residents + immigrant + youth) from diverse backgrounds to have mental health conversations, developing of a contemporary and aspirational Awareness Plan that cuts through a highly messaged, cluttered world, and connecting with community organizations + trusted voices to implement target elements of the Plan.

JEME’s approach is grounded in the understanding that the needs of individuals and communities are diverse, and therefore require a nuanced and multifaceted approach. JEME’s design team produced the 988 Lifeline Do-It-Yourself Catalog complete with 4 discrete logos, each with its own backgrounds, color choices + brand family. The JEME Team ensured the Catalog is for everyone and easy to use, allowing people from community organizations to block captains, to design or print flyers or posters, use a social media graphic, and access important mental health factoids, all to change the narratives around mental health. Because we know, it’s ok not to be ok.
